Ketuta Alexi - Meskhishvili
Opening January 20, 2011 - 6.30 p.m.
January 20 – March 20, 2011
Vive e lavora a Berlino.
From January 20th to March 20th, the soft atmospheres of spazio Morris
present, for the first time in Italy, the photographic work of the Georgian artist (born in Tbilisi, now lives in Berlin) Ketuta Alexi-Meskhishvili.
About twenty works in the exhibition entitled "One Hand Clapping" (an applause, a slap?), in which mysterious elements in collage - profiles of faces, cuttings, light or mirror reflections- creates polished and refined choreographies, floating in an illusion of time-without-end.
As in the last Los Angeles show, entitled "Ere Is My Head", the part of a body that is missing (there head, here the hand) seems to suggest a kind of state of amnesia, of emptiness (mental and spatial) that is meant as a space freed from any definition.
